Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. She was awarded the British Academy Television Award Best actress for her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. The actress speaks French, German, English and Romanian proficiently. Her mother played the violin and her father is professor of theater at one the top drama schools in Romania. "The young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. In 2008, she was recognized as an 'Eastern Shooting Star' European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. Alongside her impressive performance in her debut film, the actress will also be famous for her role in the Romanian art-film 4 Months 3 weeks and 2 Days which won her many awards including the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. Her role as a character in Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film 4 luni, 3 weeks, 2 zile (4 months 3 weeks and two days), won both three weeks and a day. Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two other awards, the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. She also appeared in the film of Francis Ford Copola Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she played Yasim Anwar on the BBC Five-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca starred in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. She later had a prominent performance in the 2014 film Fury in which she portrayed a German woman, named Irma the aunt of Emma.
